At 67 and nearing retirement, I’ve always tried to stay active—taking intermediate yoga classes, gardening, walking the dogs, and occasionally biking around the area. Still, I realized my strength needed improvement, especially for bone health and keeping up with my grandson.

Michelle has been an incredible resource in helping me reach those goals. She thoughtfully tailors each session based on my recent activities and even prepares me for specific events like hiking, biking, or kayaking trips. Her expertise really shows in how she varies the workouts, keeping both my body and mind engaged without falling into a routine.

 

What I appreciate most is her approach—she offers gentle encouragement while clearly explaining the purpose behind each exercise, including which muscles we’re working and why. It makes every session both effective and educational. Michelle is truly amazing!

Working out has always been a challenge for me with my POTS symptoms even though I live a fairly active lifestyle. However, while working with Michelle I have seen improvements in my strength, balance, and overall symptom management. This has made participation in my work and hobbies exponentially easier. Up until mid-2016 I led an active lifestyle, hunting, fishing, golfing and exercised regularly. I was 55 at the time and leading a full life! Then, I began experiencing lower back pain and weakness in my legs which led down a path of 4 back surgeries and a bilateral hip replacement over those next 5 years. I had fallen into complacency and no longer was exercising or active. My weight increased 60lbs, I was lethargic and on blood pressure meds.

In mid-2024 I made a commitment to start losing weight. I lost 60lbs over the course of the next year without exercise therefore I lost a lot of muscle mass along with fat. I felt weak and lazy and was still on blood pressure medicine.

In May 2025 my wife and I made the commitment to join the KROC center and start working out. Michelle set each of us up on a training program designed for our specific needs and goals. She worked hands on with us to ensure we had proper form for each exercise she incorporated, including strength, core and stretching. It wasn’t fun getting started but Michelle made sure we worked at a pace that would allow us to optimize our program. We continued to meet quarterly to revisit the exercises, my form and strategized a future plan.

Fast forward to present day, I no longer have lose skin, I have overall muscle strength, toning and core strength! Also, Michelle has focused on balance and leg strength with me since I still suffer from some nerve damage that makes my legs feel weak. I am no longer having to take medication for blood pressure and lost and additional 10 lbs.! Overall, Michelle has been awesome and shows a true concern for my overall health and wellbeing. I couldn’t be happier with the results we have achieved working together.

I've never liked working out. I've always found excuses to put it off and wait until another day. I wanted to feel better and improve my fitness. I knew I needed a personal trainer but not just any trainer. I needed someone who would motivate and challenge me and meet me where I was in a non-judgmental way. I have found this in Michelle. She is super knowledgeable, fun and most importantly motivating. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to turn their life around with regards to fitness and needs an amazing support person to do so.

Michelle is easy to talk with and understands my goals. She developed a training program to benefit me, it has been simple to follow. If I'm not getting the form down correctly then Michelle will do the exercises too. This helps me get a better visual of how my body should be moving.
